Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 | Airline Travel
Bruce Bommarito loves every aspect of travel. Even packing for a trip allows Bruce Bommarito the opportunity to anticipate the sights and activities he will enjoy upon arrival. Bruce Bommarito understands that many people find travel stressful and arduous. To help travelers get the most out of their trips, Bruce Bommarito suggests some simple travel planning tips to get the most out of a flight experience.
Give yourself time. Bruce Bommarito says that it’s wise to leave home with more than enough time to get to the airport, accounting for bad traffic and unexpected road conditions. Bruce Bommarito suggests adding about 50% to the time it takes to get to the airport. For example, says Bruce Bommarito, if the airport is a 30-minute drive away, give yourself at least 45 minutes. If the airport is an hour drive away, continues Bruce Bommarito, give yourself an hour and a half to get there.
If checking in bags for the flight, says Bruce Bommarito, add even more time to your calculations. Be prepared to wait in line. Don’t show up at the airport a mere 45 minutes before your flight leaves, says Bruce Bommarito, expecting no one else to be in line checking baggage. Most airports and airlines, notes Bruce Bommarito, suggest getting to the airport at least 90 minutes before your scheduled take-off. Bruce Bommarito says that it is best to heed this advice.
Bruce Bommarito believes that airline travel can always be a pleasant and satisfying experience. With a little preparation and common sense, Bruce Bommarito says that a trip to the airport never needs to be stressful. Bruce Bommarito urges travelers to overestimate the time it takes to get to the airport and be processed through security. If you’re early, notes Bruce Bommarito, a little extra time can be easily whiled away at the airport. On the other hand, adds Bruce Bommarito, arriving at the airport with not enough time is nothing but stressful.
