Even though Groeschel is a pastor , his book isn’t a ” preachy ” read, it’s more of a deep conversation with a close friend. I felt like it was easy to connect with Groeschel because throughout this book he is very open in admitting to his own failures in leading a church.

In my opinion, this heartfelt honesty made Groeschel come across as a real human being rather than an omnipresent author with all the answers.

To help readers better understand his point, Groschl divides his thought in different chapters to pinpoint different struggles that Christians face when it comes to trusting in God.

Even though you might sift through this book to find what’s in it for you, I encourage you to read it from cover to cover to receive the most benefit.

I have long been a fan of Francine Rivers and the work she has done in her previous novels When I first heard about her book called Redeeming Love, I was overflowing with anticipation to see what one of my favorite authors would present this time.

Now, I must admit that in addition to being a great story, this book also touched my heart.. Francine has really outdone herself this time by providing one of the most stirring books I have ever read. Furthermore, I think she did an great job in retelling the story of the book of Hosea.

Before I speak anymore about this book, I should probably tell you more about the story.

The protagonist of this story is Angel, who was sold into prostitution as a young child.. As one would imagine, she develops a hatred for men and the things they did to her.. She absolutely despises being used and thrown away, so she completely numbs her heart towards any male she comes across..

However, God is looking out for her, and knows that she just needs someone like Michael Hosea in her life.. Being a man of God, Michael has been called by God to enter in her life and to marry her, thus showing her how a man is supposed to love a woman.

But her past experiences have hardened her heart in such a way that she at first rejects his love and eventually grows to feel unworthy of such care and devotion.. At first she runs away from Michael’s love, but eventually comes to realize that she can be healed by the Almighty God she has avoided all of her life.

Will Angel accept God’s grace and Michael’s love for her, or will she return to her previous life?

Never fear, I wont give the details on the ending here.. If you want to know, you’ll have to read it yourself..

I felt that this book was applicable to our lives today. Many women can relate to avoiding man’s love at all costs because she was hurt in the past. Thankfully, this book provides hope that God can help us overcome our past, no matter the circumstances.
