Planning is good if there are specific places you want to visit on the way to a final destination and is helpful if you are taking a ferry to any of the islands – not because it is always necessary to book a ferry slot in advance but places might be limited in peak summer season and why waste good holiday time waiting for a departure time.
So this year, why not ignore the temptation of a trip across the channel, hire a caravan and explore Britain.
How To Renew American Pasport – It Is Easy

A passport is mandatory for anyone who wants to travel out of the country. Once the passport expires, one is required to apply for a renewal to guarantee them a permit to travel and re-enter the States. The procedures that need to be followed if you wish to know how to renew US pasport are simple and straightforward.
Documents
You need to have a form of official identification. This can be a national identification card or any other card offered by the State for official use. Your name should be the same in all your documents and certificates. Avoid unnecessary delays by ensuring that you correct any name omissions.
Renewals
There are two methods that one can use to apply for renewal. These are either by mail or personally. If you have opted for the mailing option, it is important that you have your previous card safe and undamaged. Ensure that you download and fill in a Form DS-82. Seal the application, any other required document, a money order and the form in a padded envelope. Send it to the US Department of State address.
Some Requirements
Your prior passport should have been obtained when you were 16 years of age and not exceeding 15 years ago. You also need to obtain two small sized photos. Mail the application with a money order. It should contain your names and your date of birth. All these should be placed in a padded envelope and mailed to the US Department of State.
Lost or Stolen Documents
The second option is by applying personally. Most people choose this if their previous card was lost, damaged or stolen. You need to have received the prior document not more than 15 years ago. If you are renewing for a minor, fill in the DS-11 Form. In the latter case you are required to appear in person. Carry with you the total amount of the required fee. If you have changed names, carry proof for the same.
Sign In Person
If you are applying personally, do not sign the form. The official agent should see you put down the signature personally. They are required to be the witness to the signature. Carry with you all the required documents to the facility. The fee required is predetermined. Take all these to your nearest passport facility.
Finding Centers
The expedited pass port facilities that collect these applications are numerous depending on the state you are in. Take the application to an official, recognized center. If you do not know any, go to the US Department of State website and fill in your zip code. It will provide you with a list of options to select from. Visit the nearest location for convenience purposes.
