Romance With Paris Hotels
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 | Travel and Leisure
People throughout the world equate the city of Paris with romance. From its charming bridges to its breath-taking parks and fountains, the city appears made for lovers. At night, the city comes alive with the millions of lights that earned it the nickname “City of Light”. Couples with budgets big or small can enjoy the romance of Paris since Paris hotels are available in a variety of different price points. The city has many free or low cost attractions which you can take advantage of, even if you do end up spending a lot of money on food, dining and shopping. Paris offers some quintessential, not-to-be-missed experiences for lovers.
1. Share a Kiss on a Parisian Bridge
Almost every romance set in Paris contains a scene of the star-crossed lovers embracing on one of the city’s bridges. Between the 1st and 6th arrondissements is the Pont des Arts Bridge, a perfect spot to stage your own romance. It offers a 360 degree view of famous Paris, including notable landmarks like Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Ile de la Cite.
3. Take a Trip Along the Seine
Ancient Paris’ heart and soul is the Seine River. Boats that take tourists along the Seine – glass decked bateaux mouches – can offer unforgettably romantic night time journeys. As you glide along the river, you can see many of the city’s most historic landmarks glowing with lights in the Parisian night. According to legend, stealing a kiss from your lover under the Pont-Marie can fulfil your wish for eternal love. There are Paris hotels that cater to couples by providing spacious rooms and other amenitis, so end your romantic evening in one of these charming and comfortable hotels.
4. Picnic in the Park
Pack up some cheese, bread, fruit and wine—if so inclined—and take your honey to one of Paris’ beautiful parks. Luxembourg Gardens offers a romantic setting and close proximity to Luxembourg Palace, one of Paris’ most scenic landmarks. Escape the crowds and venture into the wooded and secluded area housing the De Medici Fountain for a romantic moment with your significant other. The Tuileries Gardens—a long-standing spot for lover’s trysts—makes another great spot for a picnic or a meal in one of the area’s sidewalk cafes.
